My name is Amy Rios, and I graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a B.S. in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology. As an undergraduate researcher, I had the opportunity to work in Dr. Ajit Divakaruni’s lab, where I studied mitochondrial metabolism in the innate immune system. My research interests have since expanded into cancer biology, and I’m now pursuing my thesis project in Dr. Tikvah K. Hayes’s lab, where I study drug resistance mechanisms in EGFR-mutant non-small cell lung cancer. Outside of the lab, I enjoy exploring coffee shops, spending time with my family, and visiting Laguna Beach.
