I graduated from Purdue University in 2022 with both my Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Biology. Since graduation, I have been a team member as a Staff Research Associate in Dr. Teitell's Laboratory at UCLA, exploring the relationship between mitochondrial dynamics and cancer biology. My current research focuses on understanding how mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) transfer mechanisms influence stages of cancer development, including tumor initiation, progression, and therapeutic resistance. Using genetic frameworks and experimental models, I investigate the cellular processes that govern mtDNA inheritance and intercellular transfer, and how these processes impact cancer cell behavior and treatment outcomes. Beyond my scientific interests, I enjoy playing tennis and culinary arts, that provide a nice balance to my research work.
