Dr. Hyeonji Hwang earned her Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology from the Tech University of Korea. She then received a Ph.D. in Veterinary Medicine from Seoul National University under the guidance of Prof. Je-Yoel Cho, focusing on comparative studies to enhance the understanding of human breast cancer by utilizing a canine mammary tumor model. Following her Ph.D., she joined Dr. Tanya Stoyanova's lab in the Department of Molecular and Medical Pharmacology in January 2024 as a Postdoctoral Scholar. Her research focuses on identifying Trop2 binding partners, aiming to unravel the fundamental molecular mechanisms associated with Trop2-mediated cancer progression and to establish potential combinatorial therapies in cancer research. She is passionate about addressing critical challenges and exploring potential clinical applications to develop novel therapies for cancer.
