I received my bachelor’s degree in biology from UCLA and have been working in the gene therapy space since graduating. I joined Dr. Melissa Spencer’s lab in 2021 to contribute to their gene therapies focused on muscular dystrophies by developing an assay that accurately quantifies the gene expression of the CRISPR/Cas9-corrected dystrophin protein. During my time in the lab, I have developed an interest in expanding our understanding of these therapies so that we can make these procedures as safe as possible. I hope to continue working in this field during my time in the MMP program and beyond. Outside of the lab, I enjoy running, hiking, and cooking different recipes that I come across.
