I graduated from UCLA with a degree in Biochemistry in 2022. Since then, I have continued my journey at UCLA as a research associate in Dr. Bensinger’s lab, where I investigated how lipid metabolism influences immune cell fate and function. I worked closely with our postdoctoral fellow to explore alveolar macrophages and their lipidomic reprofiling in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. In addition, my work has led me to develop an interest in how certain anti-tumorigenic compounds affect macrophage function within the tumor-associated microenvironment. I also enjoy working with mass spectrometry and hope to continue building my expertise in it. I am excited to join the MMP program and look forward to developing myself as a scientist. Outside of the lab, I enjoy playing with my two cats, cooking, and working on my car.
