About
Dr. Junhui Hu earned his B.S. in Computer Science and M.D./Ph.D. from the Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Wuhan, China. During his training as a research physician from both the medical school and in Dr. Lily Wu's lab, he developed a broad interest in cancer research, but mainly in the scope of how tumor heterogeneity contributes to cancer progression and metastasis in urological cancers, including kidney cancer, prostate cancer, and bladder cancer. Particularly, Dr. Hu is interested in developing murine (mouse) and avian (chicken and duck) animal models mimicking the oncogenesis and metastasis in kidney cancer, with a long-term goal to find the driver mutations or cancer subpopulations in metastasis and explore new therapeutic options.
