Teagan graduated summa cum laude from UCLA with a B.S. in biochemistry and a minor in evolutionary medicine in 2022. Her research background includes undergraduate research in Dr. Amarasekare's lab in ecology and evolutionary biology studying the effects of climate change on the life history traits of harlequin bugs. Additionally, she did a year postbac at UCLA in Dr. Chanfreau's lab studying the effects of splicing inhibition on translation in yeast. Continuing her education at UCLA, Teagan is currently a Ph.D. student in the Biochemistry, Molecular and Structural Biology program. She is co-mentored by Tara TeSlaa and Danielle Schmitt where she is investigating the organelle-specific role of S-adenosylmethionine and its differential impact on liver health. Outside of the lab, Teagan enjoys baking, playing board games, exploring new places, and spending time with friends and family.
