I graduated from Colorado College with a B.A. in Molecular Biology. I joined Dr. Xinnan Wang’s lab at Stanford University as a Research Assistant, where I studied context-dependent cell death pathways in glioblastoma and Parkinson’s disease. My primary project focused on the MIRO1-BAX complex and its role in determining mitochondrial cell fate.
My research interests center on how cell death and extracellular communication are regulated in disease. In the MMP program, I hope to uncover context-dependent disease mechanisms that can be used to develop more targeted, mechanism-based therapeutics.
After my Ph.D., I plan to pursue a career in academia as a professor, leading a research lab while teaching cancer biology.
Outside the lab, I enjoy crocheting, photography, and hiking!”
